Asset type collections

The Asset Type Collections page in AIP for Jira Cloud can be used to organize and group similar assets by creating collections of asset types, attributes, and assets.

You can access this page from AIP's top navigation bar. AIP comes with a Default Collection when you first install it, and you can add new asset types and assets to it. By clicking on the collection name, you can see the collection, the assets inside it, and change its configurations.

Create a new Asset type collection

  1. Open AIP and click Asset Type Collections > + Asset Type Collection. The Create Asset Type Collection screen appears.

  2. Enter the required information for the new Asset type collection:

    • Name – Enter a unique name for the collection.

    • Description – Provide a brief description of the collection.

    • Permissions – Select a permission scheme for the collection. Asset permissions are created within permission schemes, which are then assigned to specific asset type collections by App Administrators. Here is how to create new permission schemes.

    • Global Attributes – Select a global attribute scheme for the collection. Global attributes are where you can select which asset global attributes are enabled. You can assign them to asset type collections. Here is how to create new global attribute schemes.

  3. Click Create to save the new Asset Type Collection.

Once the new Asset Type Collection is created, you can click its name to open it and add new asset types to it.
