Printing labels

Important Notes:

  • Ensure your label printer's page size matches the dimensions of your labels. The box of the QR must match the Label (paper) size.

  • An online unit converter can be helpful for adjusting the width and height of your QR code on the label. Here's a common conversion reference:

    • 1 inch = 96 pixels (px)

    • 1 centimeter (cm) = 37.79 px

  • If a custom QR template is not configured for an asset type, the default template will be applied.

There are three ways to print QR codes and labels:

  • Print all assets in current search: Click Bulk operations > Print QR all on the top panel of the Asset Navigator. This will print labels for all assets displayed in the current search results.

  • Print selected assets in current search: Select the assets you want to print QR for and then click Bulk operations > Print QR selected.

  • Print a single asset's QR code and label: Click the three-dot icon nextto the specific asset you want to print, and select Print QR Code.

While specific steps may vary depending on your printer model, here's a general guide for configuring a Dymo printer:

Troubleshooting Dymo Printer Issues

There could be multiple reasons why your Dymo printer might not be functioning properly. Below, we'll outline some of the most common issues.

  1. Check Label Feed: Press the label feed button on the Dymo itself.

    • If it prints more than one label, ensure labels are properly installed, and the sensor is clean.

    • If it still feeds more than one label, run a Dymo cleaning card through it.

  2. Configure Printer Settings (Windows):

    • Go to your computer's Settings > Devices and Printers (or Control Panel).

    • Right-click your Dymo printer and select Printer Properties.

    • Click the General tab, then Printing Preferences.

    • Set Orientation to Landscape.

    • Click Advanced.

      • If printing Rx labels, change the label to 30258 diskette.

      • If printing other labels, leave it at 30252 Address.

      • If your specific label isn't listed, you might be able to add a new custom paper size.

    • Click OK to apply the settings.

    • In the Advanced tab, click Printing Defaults.

    • Repeat steps in section 2b (Orientation and Label selection).

    • Click OK to apply all changes.

    • Go to the Advanced tab again and click Printing Defaults at the bottom left corner.

    • Set to Landscape.

    • Click Advanced.

      • If printing Rx labels, change the label to 30258 diskette.

      • If printing other labels, leave it at 30252 Address.

    • Click OK repeatedly until you return to the main printer window.

  3. Close and Retry:

    • Close the printer properties window and attempt printing again.
