Add a simple read confirmation

Overview

A user with Confluence view and edit permission can add a simple read confirmation request to a page or blog post.

Once added, users can be assigned as readers.

Any user with view permission can confirm reading a page or blog post if assigned as a reader to the page or blog post read confirmation.

Add a simple read confirmation

Choose Read Confirmation  in the page tools menu

In the read confirmation popup choose Confirm.

An on-screen message confirms the addition of the read confirmation.

Refresh the page to view

  • the read confirmation byline breadcrumb added to the page sub-title

  • the read confirmation bar added to the page footer

One or more users can be assigned as readers to the read confirmation.

Choose the Assign button or the Read Confirmation breadcrumb to open the read confirmation popup.

  • search for a user or Confluence group to add to the assignment box

  • then choose + (plus) to add as a reader

Read confirmation status is PENDING if no reader has yet confirmed.

Read confirmation status changes to PARTIAL once at least one reader confirms.

On the page, the status of the read confirmation status is updated in the read confirmation byline breadcrumb and the read confirmation bar.

Read confirmation status is changed to CONFIRMED when all readers have confirmed.

  • any user with view permission, once assigned as a reader can confirm reading the content

  • a user with edit permission for the content can add and remove a user as a reader

  • all readers can be removed using the Clear list option in the popup

Adding a new reader to a CONFIRMED read confirmation changes the status to PARTIAL.
