Displaying JIRA Reports in Confluence
You can easily use Dataplane to display JIRA-based reports in Confluence, by simply adding your Dataplane gadgets to Confluence pages. To display a report in Confluence, you must first have created a report in Dataplane, and also saved and shared the report with the required user groups.
Adding a Dataplane Report to Confluence
To begin, you must first establish an Application Link between JIRA and Confluence, and both servers must use the same set of usernames.
Next, you should follow Atlassian's instructions to add your JIRA gadget feed to Confluence.Â
Due to a bug in JIRA (JRA-29795), you must also disable JIRA's built-in gzip compression feature if you are using JIRA 5.1 through 6.2.4 inclusive. Earlier or later versions of JIRA are not impacted.
Atlassian already recommends disabling gzip compression if you are using JIRA behind an Apache httpd server with mod_proxy, and they indicate that you may actually experience a performance gain by turning it off.
To disable gzip compression, access the JIRA administration panel and select System » General Configuration » Edit Configuration, and then disable the  "Use gzip compression" feature. Failure to disable JIRA's gzip compression will result in Dataplane gadgets failing to display in Confluence.
If you use JIRA behind a web server proxy, you may still be able to leave gzip compression enabled on the proxy.

After registering the gadget feed with Confluence and disabling JIRA's gzip compression, you can add an Arsenale Dataplane Report macro into any Confluence page from the macro browser. To do this, you can use type-ahead completion by entering "{dataplane" directly into the Confluence editor, and then select Arsenale Dataplane Report from the dropdown. Alternatively, you can also click the "+" icon on the toolbar, select Other Macros, and search for "Arsenale Dataplane".
The gadget can then be configured the same way as it is configured in JIRA. Select a saved Dataplane report from the "Report" dropdown in the preview window, click Save in the preview window, and then click Insert in the bottom right corner of the dialog to add the report to your page. Note that your JIRA and Confluence must have a mutual trust relationship enabled (as described in the Atlassian instructions at the beginning of this section) for Dataplane gadgets to work properly in Confluence.
