How to perform advance calculation in Excel macro using the GoEdit app

This article provides step by step instructions to perform advanced calculations in Excel macro using the GoEdit app.

By using the GoEdit app, you can open and edit the spreadsheets that are attached to the confluence page. GoEdit enables you to edit spreadsheets on the fly. You can skip these steps: Download  → Edit → Re-attach. Also, it helps to edit the data in the attachment without impacting your Excel formula.

Instructions

1. Log into your Confluence instance as an administrator.
2. Navigate to  > Manage apps > Find new apps to find and install the GoEdit app.
   
3. Go to the intended space and create a page with attachment(s).
4. Click the page edit link to edit the page.
5. Add the macro Excel for Confluence, mention the Name of attachment and click Save.
   
   
6.  You can find an option: Edit directly above to the attachment details as shown in the below screenshot:
   

7. Click Edit directly to edit the data. A pop up appears on your screen. Click Open GoEdit to proceed with editing and click Install

   If you are using this option for the first time using GoEdit, you are prompted to install it on your computer.

   

8. The excel sheet opens, where you can make the required changes and save the excel.

9. When prompted by the below screen, click Save Attachment.
   
   You can see the data is edited now for user3 as shown below:
   
   You can also find the data is updated as per the calculation made in the excel sheet:
