This article explains comprehensive troubleshooting steps and the root cause of the issue where Excel for Confluence is stuck at 0%.

Issue Description

During the migration process to the cloud of the Excel for Confluence app, it has been observed that the migration progress may encounter a stall at 0%. It is noteworthy, however, that despite this apparent stagnation, all data is successfully migrated to the cloud.

Reason

The migration process may encounter a 0% progress stall for new users to our cloud Excel app. Specifically, during the S2C migration, the appProperties migration may fail, resulting in the migrationStatus being erroneously set to "Progress." Consequently, the migration appears to be continuously in progress at 0%.

The workaround is to update the migrationStatus to "Done", effectively resolving the issue and ensuring a seamless migration experience for affected users.

Troubleshooting steps mentioned here

When the app migration is stuck at 0%, the following are recommended troubleshooting steps

  • Check the server logs to see if there is any java.lang.OutOfMemoryError. If yes, ask the customer to take a backup of the logs, restart the server if possible, and retry CCMA again. If possible, they should increase server memory if the memory is low.

  • Check the cloud logs for functional errors. Try to resolve them.

  • Check migrationStatus flag value at the FUSE layer. If the status flag value is stuck at InProgress, then ask the FUSE team to reset the status to DONE. Ask the customer to run CCMA again for Excel app.

  • Kindly communicate with the FUSE team to get more insights into the migrationStatus flag.
