How to configure an announcement for a specific group using Announcer for Confluence

This article explains how to create an announcement for a specific group using the Announcer for Confluence app. 

Instructions

  1. Log in as an administrator into your Confluence instance.
  2. Select Cog wheel () > Manage apps.
  3. Select Announcements under the ANNOUNCER FOR CONFLUENCE section from the sidebar on the left.
  4. If you are creating an announcement for the first time, click Create one now button to create a new announcement or click Add another notification.

    If you have an existing announcement and want to reconfigure the announcement, edit the respective announcement.
  5. In the Announcement editor window, enter the announcement details as required for the new announcement. To update an existing announcement, click Show advanced options.
  6. To target a specific group, select the Filter for specific group(s) check box, and then select the intended group in Target group(s). To select multiple groups, hold down Shift and then click the relevant group(s).
  7. Click Save to create the announcement.         

           When a user from the specified group logs in, the announcement is displayed as configured. For the given example, the announcement is displayed as:
