How to add prefix to board name with Agile Board Template Builder for Jira

This article instructs how to append a prefix to a board name using Agile board template builder for Jira.

Instructions

  1. Log into Jira as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to Cog wheel () > Manage apps > AGILE BOARD TEMPLATE BUILDER > Board Template Settings.
  3. Create a board template and provide values for the relevant fields.
  4. Provide a prefix text, for example B_, to the Board/Filter name prefix field and save the template as shown:

  5. Navigate to Projects > Create Project From Template.

    Refer to this article to know how to create a project from a template and assign a board template to the project using our Delegated Project Creator for Jira app. 

  6. Select your template and click Create Project.

  7. Provide the project details and click Create in the pop-up window that appears.

    The project gets created.

To verify if the prefix is added to the board name, click the URL of the Jira Software board after the project is created.

You can see the newly created board and that the prefix, in this example B_, has been appended to the board name as shown:
