FAQs for Agile Board Template Builder for Jira

Jira administrator delegates the creation of new Agile boards to the users that request as such.

1. Go to the Boards dropdown and select Create Board from Template. The following popup window is displayed: 
   
   
2. Select a board template to use and indicate how to populate the board, provide a name for the new board and click Create Board.

• Yes, by default, a user can create Agile boards from an Agile Board Builder template that has the same name as an existing board. However, we have an option to disable the creation of duplicate board names. 
  
  
• Navigate to Add-ons > Global Settings and unselect the Prevent duplicate board names checkbox (as shown above) and click Save to save your changes. With this setting, you can create multiple Agile boards with the same name.

Yes! The filter query of the board controls the usage of the ranking ability. If JQL does not have an order by Rank, the board administrator should further enable ranking by navigating to the board, click Board dropdown > Configure > Add Rank. 

Yes, this app can be integrated with the Delegated Project Creator for Jira app. You can refer to this page for more details.

Through this app, you can create as many different templates as you need to handle new Agile board requests. Customize your templates by navigating to Board > Configure from the left panel, choose the following schemes:

• Swimlane schemes
• Column schemes
• Quick Filter schemes

The following components cannot be configured now but shall be available in future releases:

• Card colors
• Card layout
• Estimation
  

Yes, versions 1.0.4 and higher are compatible with Jira version 8.0.
