How to delete a page tree

To delete a page tree the user must have the delete and edit permission for the space the page is in.

Atlassian does not let apps control menu items depending on user permissions. The menu item for Delete Page Tree will still be visible to the user even if they do not have permission to delete it in Confluence. We would like to modify this and have an open issue CPTC-92 to track our work with Atlassian on this. 

If you attempt to delete a tree without permission, you will receive an error message informing you that you do not have permission to delete it.

To delete a page tree, perform the following:

  1. Navigate to the parent page that you want to delete.

  2. Click the ellipse icon on the top right corner of the page.

  3. Select the Delete Page Tree option. A confirmation page is displayed.

  4. Click Delete. A progress bar is displayed.

  5. Once the deletion is completed, a success message is displayed then click Done.
