Overview

This page explains how to edit specific data sections and use macro limitations.

Specifies selected sections of the page that can be edited without editing the entire page.

This is useful for large documents that are regularly edited but only in a few specific sections.

The macro creates a designated section for Scaffolding data that allows users to edit the Scaffolding content within the selected section.

You can create multiple Data Section macros on the same page or template.

The following instances are currently not supported in this macro:

Using multiple Data Section macros with the same name on the same page will fail to provide accurate results.

This is to avoid data confusion with values rendered for this scenario; instead, use the Group Data macro.

Concurrent user edits will fail, resulting in overwritten data.
The use of Confluence wiki markup is currently not supported.
Migration from Confluence Server to Confluence Cloud is currently not supported. Scaffolding data that resides within the Data Section macro will not be migrated. When migrating Scaffolding pages that contain the Data Section macro to the Cloud, it will appear as an Unknown macro: data-section.
