Rich Filter Extensions
Rich filter extensions are separate Jira apps installed on top of the Rich Filters for Jira Dashboards app to extend the rich filters and rich filter gadgets with new specific functionality.
Export to PDF option is available if you add Rich Filters:PDF Reports for Jira.
First, you'll need to install the Rich Filters: PDF Reports for Jira extension. With the extension, you can export your gadgets or entire Jira dashboards containing rich filter gadgets to PDF.
Export a single gadget
Navigate to your rich filter gadget.
Click the Export (
) icon in the gadget footer.
Click Export PDF.
Your PDF displays the same filtered view as your dashboard.
Export the entire dashboard
Click the Export PDF button in the upper-right corner of your dashboard.
It appears automatically once you install the extension.(Optional) Select the Include export metadata checkbox to export information about the rich filters used in the gadgets' configuration, active quick filters, total number of issues, Jira, and rich filter app versions.
Click Export
Download your PDF file
The export includes all rich filter gadgets from your dashboard with the current filtering applied.
Only the rich filter gadgets from the dashboard are exported to the PDF file. Rich Filter::PDF Reports for Jira does not export any non-rich filter gadgets.
Excel exports
You can export the issues displayed by the Rich Filter Results gadget to Excel directly from the gadget.
Excel export works only with the Rich Filter Results gadget with no extensions needed.
Export to Excel instructions
Find your Rich Filter Results gadget.
Click the Export (
) icon in the gadget footer.
Select the Export Excel option.
The exported file has the XLSX format and contains all the columns as displayed in the current view (Jira fields and smart columns). The smart column values will have the colors configured in the smart filter.
Export limits
Export limits defined by Jira administrators are considered only for Rich Filter Results gadgets.
To prevent server overload, by default, Jira limits the maximum number of issues exported in one operation to 1000. This limit can be modified by editing the configuration settings on your Jira instance. The properties used to compute the export limits are:
jira.search.views.max.limit: This property sets a hard limit on the number of issues that can be exported, and by default, it is set to 1000. Only certain users can break this limit. See below.jira.search.views.default.max: This property sets a soft limit (a default value) on the number of issues that can be exported. Any user can decide to break this limit.jira.search.views.max.unlimited.group: If thejira.search.views.max.limitproperty is set, only the users in this group can decide to break the limit.
In case the export exceeds any defined limit, a pop-up warns the user. The user can set the number of issues to be exported (Maximum issues), but you cannot break the hard limit, unless you have the rights to do so (see the jira.search.views.max.unlimited.group property above).
Export limits
Be careful, exporting too many issues (especially if they have a lot of columns) can be resource-intensive for Jira.
