6. Importing a template or a package
- Jonathan Muse
Goal
This section contains the instructions for importing a Gaia for Jira package. For more informations, see What is imported.
Pre-requisites
This tutorial was written considering that:
- you have a Jira instance installed and running on your server;
- you have administrator rights on that Jira instance;
- you are logged in your Jira instance;
- you have a Gaia for Jira package file to import into your system (read this article to create one).
Note
If the template you are trying to import is a package, the template will automatically have a new Issue type scheme and worflow scheme created and an association will be made between the template and the schemes.
Importing a template
1. Go to the "Manage apps" menu of the Jira Administration section :
Find the administration menu icon on the upper right side of your screen. Once you click on it, select the "Manage apps" option.
2. Go to the Gaia Configuration page :
From the menu on the left side of the screen, find the "Gaia" section, click on "Gaia Configuration":
3. Click the "Import" button.
On the top right side of the screen, you will find an "Import" button.
4. Fill the required fields in the import dialog.
In the import dialog, enter a name for the new template and select the template file to import (should be a .package file).
When done, click on "Import".
Your new template should appear in the list of user templates.
You're done!
There you go, your template file is now imported.
