Administrator's Guide - 1.2
Video: Admin Features
The following video provides a helpful high-level overview of the Administration features available within this add-on. See the Administrator Guide documentation below for additional details.
Accessing the Configuration Screen
Once the Delegated Project Admin Pro for JIRA add-on has been installed and a valid license has been supplied, you can access its configuration screen by doing any of the following:
- From the Cog menuÂ
- From any Admin screen, choose the Delegated Administration tab.
Delegated Schemes section
The Delegated Schemes section in the sidebar lists each type of schemes supported by the Delegated Project Admin Pro for JIRA add-on. This includes:
- Field Configuration schemes
- Issue Type schemes
- Issue Type Screen schemes
- Notification schemes
- Permission schemes
- Workflow schemes
What to delegate
The What to delegate section in the right panel allows you to select which schemes can be handled by non-JIRA Administrators.
For each scheme type listed above, you can configure which options are available to project administrators or leads (whomever it is delegated to in the Who to delegate it to section):
- None - feature disabled - This will disable delegation for this particular scheme. (Default)
- All items - This will allow delegated project administrators to select from all of the relevant schemes in your instance.
- Exclude certain schemes - This allows the JIRA administrator to select which schemes SHOULD NOT be available for delegated project administrators to select from.
- Only specific schemes - This allows the JIRA administrator to select the specific schemes that SHOULD be available for delegated project administrators to select from.
When "Exclude certain schemes" is selected, the right panel will be expanded to list each existing scheme. Click the Action button () to toggle whether that scheme is hidden (i.e. excluded).
When "Only specific schemes" is selected, the right panel will be expanded to list each existing scheme. Click the Action button () to toggle whether that scheme is shown (i.e. included).
Who to delegate it to
The Who to delegate it to section in the right panel allows you to choose who can Select schemes and Modify schemes. The ability to Modify schemes is currently available only for Permission schemes and Notification schemes, and this allows users to duplicate their current Permission or Notification scheme and then maintain it themselves.
For each scheme type listed above, you can set the permissions to reflect the following:
- None - feature disabled - This will disable delegation for this particular scheme (Default)
- Project lead only - Only the single user that is designated as the project lead on the project will have access to configure this scheme.
- Users with Project admin permissions - If somebody has access to the project administration functionality (version, roles and component editing, for example) they will have access to configure the relevant scheme.

The Delegation Settings section contains options that allow the global administrator to configure what can be included when affected schemes are duplicated and maintained on a project basis.
