Introduction

Update on Transition for Jira provides a combination of workflow transition Post Function and Validator that can be configured to update one or more issues or sub-tasks and determine conditional transitioning respectively. The app allows you to set issue fields with values using easy-to-use pick lists and substitution variables. You can also configure optional rules and conditions to customize updating issues and sub-tasks and setting conditional validators. Conditions may be based on information from either the original or parent issue or sub-task. 

Update on Transition for Jira offers the following features that are similar to native Jira post functions in that they are configured and can be modified during normal workflow editing:

Update on Transition post function shares similar capabilities with Create on Transition for Jira, which includes the ability to create issues or sub-tasks.
