Set up a connection to Jira

 

This guide explains how to configure the Salesforce Package. If you haven't done so, install the Salesforce Package on your Salesforce before proceeding with the following steps.

Connector for Salesforce & Jira must have also been installed and configured on your Jira instance.

Configuration

  1. In Salesforce, click Settings > Setup.
    If you are using Salesforce Classic, click Setup located on the upper right pane.

  2. In the sidebar, use Quick Find to find Package and go to Installed Packages.

  3. Look for Jira for Salesforce and click Configure. You will be asked to generate an API Access Token.

  4. Switch over to your Jira instance to generate a Jira access token.

  5. Navigate to Jira > Apps > Salesforce.

  6. Choose your Connection, then click on  > API Access Token.

    If you do not see the configuration above, it may be because you are using the Classic Connector for Salesforce & Jira. Refer to Classic Connector documentation for more information.

  7. A pop-up window appears with your API Access Token.

  8. Copy the API Access Token and paste it into the Salesforce screen from Step 3 and click Save

    If you receive an Unauthorized Endpoint error message at this point, refer to this knowledge base article.

  9. The Salesforce Package now has a connection to your Jira Cloud.
