User with only view permission

A user with ONLY view permission for the content

  • can see the read confirmation byline and macro

  •  can read confirm but ONLY if they are assigned

  • can view the list of assigned readers

But a user with ONLY view permission CANNOT

  • assign or unassign readers

  • add a read confirmation

  • confirm the read confirmation if not assigned

User with view and edit permission

User with view and edit permission, the document author and space admin

  • can add a read confirmation

  • can see the read confirmation byline and macro

  • can read confirm but ONLY if they are assigned

  • can view the list of assigned readers

  • can assign and unassign readers

  • can remove a read confirmation
