Transitions

The actions of approving the content, rejecting the content, or updating approved or rejected content moves the page or blog to a different state. These are the transitions.

Review state

In the Review state the content can undergo one of two transitions: Approve or Reject.

The options displayed in the approval popup are the content review decisions. Rejecting or approving the content causes the approval workflow to transition.

Approved state

In the published Approved state, if the content is edited and saved, the page approval state transitions to the draft state Review.

There are no options to transition the approval workflow in the approval popup. The approval workflow simply implements a transition when the content is updated.

The transition from the Approved state only occurs if the content is edited and published. It does not occur if a label or attachment is added or removed.

Rejected state

Pages or blogs in the Rejected can be approved, and the page transitions to the Approved state. If the content is edited, the approval workflow transitions the page or blog to the Review state.

The content review whilst in the Rejected state can only be approved by a reviewer.

No transition occurs if the user rejects the content as part of the content review in this approval state - but this rejected decision is recorded as part of the document activity for the page or blog post.

If content is edited and published whilst in the Rejected state the approval workflow transitions the content to the Review state.

Adding or removing a label or attachment to the content does not cause a transition.
