Applying the Comala Document Approval workflow

Overview

Applying the Comala Document Approval workflow to a page or blog post ensures that your document is reviewed and signed off.

The approval workflow can either be added on a page-by-page basis or applied to all documents in a space.

Once applied to a document, a page editor can open the approval workflow popup to review and approve or reject the content.

Adding Comala Document Approval

In a space, the Comala Document Approval app can be applied in one of two modes

Apply on a page-by-page basis

Add and apply to an individual page one at a time (page mode) using either

  • the Add Approval byline on the page

  • the page tools menu option

Apply to all documents in a space

When the approval workflow is active in the app space settings

  • the approval workflow is applied to all the content in the space

  • the application of the space approval workflow overrides any approval added and applied on a page-by-page basis

  • the approval workflow state on all the documents can be initialized to the same state

  • an end-user is unable to add or remove an approval workflow on a page-by-page basis

Only the space administrator can add the Comala Document Approval workflow and apply it to all the documents in the space.

If the workflow is not currently applied using the app space settings, then an end-user can add and apply the Comala Document Approval workflow on a page-by-page basis.
