Tableau Connector Pro for Jira
Connect End of Support:
Atlassian has announced the end of support for the Connect framework in late 2026.
Appfire recommends upgrading the Tableau Connector Pro for Jira cloud app to the Forge Remote version to stay current with future enhancements and security updates. For more information, refer to the Release notes October 2025.
Contact our support team if you have any questions.
Tableau Connector Pro for Jira securely connects Jira and Tableau. It allows you to import Jira data to Tableau and build up-to-date data tracking, gain business insights, and make informed decisions.
Tableau Connector Pro for Jira requires Tableau Desktop software to function
For the app version 4.3.0 with OData connector support, the Tableau Desktop minimum supported version is 2023.3.
It is recommended that you use the OData datatype connector, as Tableau has marked WDC 2.0 as deprecated.
Web Data Connectors (WDCs) 2.0 published to the Tableau Server 2023.1 and above are failing for scheduled refresh
Tableau has marked WDC 2.0 as deprecated. However, it stated that it will support WDC 2.x, and the connectors will continue functioning until they are retired in Dec 2025.
The scheduled refreshes are failing for the customers who either upgraded their "Tableau Software” to v2023.1 and above or performed a fresh install of Tableau Software.
For a workaround and more information, refer to Scheduled refresh is failing for Web Data Connector 2.x.
Supported Connections
Tableau Connector Pro for Jira enables you to import Jira data into Tableau using Tableau’s OData protocol and Web Data Connector API.
Tableau Connector Pro for Jira - OData connector
The app version 4.3.0 supports the OData protocol. To create an OData connector, refer to My Connectors - OData.
Tableau Connector Pro for Jira app supports OData V4. For more information, refer to OData.
OData connector only supports Extract connection. Live connections are not supported at this time.
OData is supported by both Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud and is a long-term solution.
OData does not need any deployments or configurations from the customer side. Hence, you can easily get started using OData connectors.
To migrate from WDC(Legacy) to OData, you need to create new OData connectors for Tableau reports. Refer to How to migrate from WDC(legacy) to OData.
The data imported using the OData connector in Tableau Desktop may contain one or more blank rows. This is due to a known issue within Tableau software.
Tableau Connector Pro for Jira - Web Data Connector
Tableau’s Web Data Connector API only supports Extract connection. Live connections are not supported at this time.
For more information regarding Web Data Connectors, refer to Tableau Web Data Connector.
To create a WDC connector, refer to My Connectors - WDC (Legacy).
