Copy Space dashboard

Overview

You can copy a space as it exists at a point in time to another space.

The options for the documents and content to be copied from the current space and the target space are configured in the space tools Copy Space dashboard.

Copy Space configuration

To copy a space to another space

  • you must configure a target space each time you use Copy space

  • choose the content type to be copied (pages, blogposts, top-level pages)

  • configure the content be copied (labels, page properties) for the documents

Target space

For each Copy Space action you must set a target space for the copy using the dropdown menu.

To copy a space you will need to have

  • space admin permission in the space you want to copy

  • at least view, edit and delete permission for pages, blog posts, and attachments in the target space

You will also need to be a member of the Confluence user group added to the Copiers Group in the Copy Space - global configuration.

A new target space must set for each Copy Space action.

Copy options

You can configure the copy options for Copy Space to

  • copy selected document types (pages, blog posts or both)

  • ignore top-level pages (the home page and orphan pages)

  • delete existing pages in the target space

The content to be copied for each document can also be configured in Advanced Copy Options for each Copy Space action. This includes options to copy content properties, copy or match labels and copy page restrictions.

The copy date on the target space pages can be configured to the copy date or to be the modification date of the source space document.

Copy Space configuration copy options, once set, are retained for any subsequent copy of the current space.
