- Jonathan Muse
Goal
This section shows instructions for adding a template with Gaia for JIRA.
Associating a Jira Project with a Confluence Space
In order to have Page Template working properly, you need to associate a Jira Project with a default Confluence Space.
Please read Associating a Confluence Space with a Jira Project
Page Template types
Your page templates may be one or more pages.Â
Page creation location
- All pages will be created at the root of a selected space, under the HOME page. You may move the page under the right location afterwards.Â
- Note that any HOME page you may have in your template will be considered as a regular page.
- If your template contains a hierarchy of pages, the hierarchy will be recreated as well.
- Note that all pages without a valid parent page will be created under the HOME page.
Elements created
The following elements regarding a page are created:
- Text sections
- Macros
- Attachements
Page Sections
- Page sections are for the moment not supported. Make sure that your templates are within a single main section
Not created
- Revisions. Page history and former versions of a page are not kept in the template. Only the latest revision is kept.
- Comments. All comments are dropped, and will not be created.
- Autorisations. All autorisations are lost and must be reset for the new pages.
Using text macros for separating pages
As you may instantiate a template several times in the same project and the same space, pages will be created over and over. Since Confluence doesn't allow to have multiple pages with the same name, you should configure page names with the proper macro names.
For instance, a Software Delivery Form page should be names Software Delivery Form - ##DELIVERABLE_NAME##Â meaning that everytime a new template is created, it will bear the name of the deliverable itself. This also should allow to properly find your pages in the hierarchy.
