Who should read this section
Users and Administrators who need to understand the basics of the Gaia Activity App and its extensions. We made this one short for you to read. Keep going!
Templates
Gaia Activity allows you to manage, create and track your everyday work under the the concept of Activities stored in templates. Because you may have to recreate similar tasks, and write similar documents over and over, it's efficient to have them stored in templates.
Gaia Activity will let you create Activity Templates. At its most basic, Activity Template can be composed of Components:
- Jira Issues (also called Issue Template)
- Confluence Pages (also called Page Template)
- Other extensions
Let's depict this using the following:
Icon | Item | Use |
---|---|---|
Activity Template | An activity is some recurrent work you have to do and store in templates. An activity is composed from one to several components. | |
Component: Issue Template | This is a Jira issue template, a file composed of JIra issues that represent some or all the issues you wish to have in your template. | |
Component: Page Template | This is a Confluence pages template. A hierarchy of pages (or a single page) that are used as a template and that can be instantiated many times | |
Component: Filter | This is a configurable filter, that can be created with your template |
Example of an Activity Template
This figures explains it all:Â
One activity may contain several Jira Issue Components and several Confluence Pages, and one filter to be created everytime your template is generated.
