Item types overview

TFS4JIRA analyzes the item types currently defined in your Jira and Azure DevOps projects and provides a method to map Jira issue types to Azure DevOps work item types and vice versa. Once mapped, whenever TFS4JIRA detects a change to an item type on one platform, Jira and Azure synchronize, and that change is made to the mapped item type on the other platform. Therefore, it is essential to ensure all item types in Jira and Azure DevOps are correctly mapped.

Configure Item types

  1. Click the In Jira field and select an item type from the list, or enter the item type name and select it when it appears.

  2. Click the In Azure field and select the corresponding work item types from the list, or enter the work item type name and select it when it appears.
TFS4JIRA can map item types automatically as default item types. When defined, the most common default item types are Task and Epic.

  3. Click Add mapping. Mapped item types are displayed in the Mapped item types list on this page.
