Installation

The Comala Document Management for Confluence Cloud app is managed as a user-installed app.

By default, the app is automatically updated on new releases.

Once the installation is completed, the global administrator can configure

  • manage user approval signing tokens

The global administrator can also configure the app for use from behind a corporate firewall.

Please check regularly for appropriate updates and app releases on Atlassian Marketplace and in the documentation release notes.

Onboarding feature

The onboarding options include

Access the onboarding screen

Open the onboarding screen using either

  • the Confluence sidebar menu under APPS

  • the Confluence top menu under Apps

Choose an option in the onboarding screen to explore the app or apply an example workflow.

We are gradually rolling out to customer Confluence sites the Onboarding screen options to apply the onboarding workflows. The example workflows will be available in the app across all Confluence sites by 31 OCT 2024 .

Global configuration

The Document Management Signing Code Admin screen displays the workflow approval signing tokens set up by users on the Confluence site. It also lets the global administrator set an expiry date for a user token or remove it the token.cdmc_globaladmin_signingcodeadmin.png

The screen displays

  • user name

  • token expiry date

  • date created

  • last token usage attempt by each user

  • number of failed token authentication attempts by each user

For many users with tokens, the display can be paginated to 50 or 100 users. The default displays ten users.

Using the dialog box, you can search and filter for a user with a signing token.

The global administrator can also configure the app for use from behind a corporate firewall.

App user permissions - app scope

Each app for Confluence Cloud (like Comala Document Management) has to be configured with a specific scope.

Scopes allow an app to request a particular level of access to an Atlassian product.

This configuration is done automatically when the app is installed. This adds the Comala Document Management for Confluence Cloud system user

  • as an individual user in the VIew Global Permissions screen

  • assigns the global Create Space(s) permission to the app system user

The automatic configuration also adds the Comala Document Management for Confluence Cloud system user as an individual user for each space in the space settings Permissions screen.

The app system user is assigned all individual user permissions for the space except Restriction Add/Delete; Mail Delete, Space Export.
