How to manage my migrations?

The Manage Migrations page lists essential information for each migration. This page allows you to view the status and details of your migrations at a glance. In addition to that, you can return to a previously incomplete migration to review or complete it.

Migration states

Each migration you create can be in one of the following states:

  • CREATED The migration is created. You can use the View action to resume and complete the migration.

  • ANALYSIS The migration is being analyzed. You can use the View action to check the analysis progress and details.

  • FAILED The migration failed. You can open a support request and send us a support zip, which will help us identify the problem.

  • DONE The migration is completed. You can use the View button to see the summary of the migrated projects, issues, and configuration changes.

Viewing migrations when connectivity is lost

When a connection to the Jira Cloud site can’t be established for some reason, you won’t be able to return to or open an existing migration.

In case:

  • you don’t have a cloud connection to the Jira site in Cloud Migration Tool’s UI,

  • your cloud credentials become obsolete, or

  • the cloud connection used for an existing migration isn’t working for some reason,

you’ll have to connect or reconnect to the Jira site with valid credentials.

Review or return to a migration

  1. Log in as a user with the Jira System Administrators global permission.

  2. Choose the cog icon at the top right of the screen, then choose Configuration Manager.

  3. Click Move to Jira Cloud and review the list with migrations in the Manage migrations section.

  4. Choose a migration in the CREATED state and click the View button in the Actions section.

  5. You will return to the phase reached during that particular migration.

  6. In case you don’t have a connection to the Jira Cloud site in the migration, use the Connect action in the error message in the Actions column of the Manage migrations section (see the screenshot below). This way, you’ll be able to create a connection to the Jira site with your credentials and review the migration.

Download a support zip

You can download and send us a support zip to help us investigate the cause for a failed migration.

  1. Log in as a user with the Jira System Administrators global permission.

  2. Choose the cog icon at the top right of the screen, then choose Configuration Manager.

  3. Select Move to Jira Cloud from the left-side menu and review the list with migrations.

  4. Choose a failed migration and click the Support zip button in the Actions section. Contact us and attach the downloaded support zip file to our Support Portal.
