Description
The Update issues post function can also be used to transition issues together with updating fields (since 2.0). The same configuration is used and it works similarly. In order to make it a transition, the Transition field needs to be populated with a valid transition name or id. An invalid transition or a transition that is not valid for the current state of the issue is ignored with the error logged to the Jira application log. This page documents the difference to Update issues when a transition is requested.
Restrictions
- Only issue fields on the transition screen can be updated on a transition. Other field changes are ignored.
- If a comment is requested, it must be on the transition screen and is added as part of the transition.
Add Transition
Select Post Function
- Click the Add Post Function button in the Post Functions section of the workflow transition you want to add a post function to.
- Find and select the Update Issues in the list.
- Click the Add button to add details to the post function.
