Use Integrity Check for Jira as part of Configuration Manager for Jira (CMJ)

What is a snapshot?

A configuration snapshot is a structured file containing data of a Jira configuration. It is called a snapshot because, just like with a Polaroid camera, you “take a photo” of all your Jira settings and configurations at this specific moment in time. The best part is that all data in the snapshot is instance-independent. This means that you can easily transfer and import the information it contains to another Jira instance.

Snapshots are the building blocks of the Configuration Manager for Jira app, and that's why it’s essential that there’s a way to ensure your snapshot data is as clear and organized as possible. This is where Integrity Check for Jira comes in handy. It can be used as a standalone app or as part of Configuration Manager for Jira.

When using Integrity Check with Configuration Manager, you can perform an additional integrity check called Snapshot Scope.

What's possible with the snapshot integrity check?

The Snapshot Scope functionality delivers much-needed flexibility and time savings for Jira admins. It is the perfect solution when dealing with large and complex Jira instances with hundreds of projects, and you have to move only a few of them. Instead of dealing with all possible errors in your Jira configuration, you can narrow them down and fix only the ones in your snapshot scope.
