Botron team is proud to announce the first official release of Configuration Manager Cloud Migration Tool, 1.0.1!

Highlights

Updates and Resolved Issues

FEATURES

  • Create connections to Jira Cloud sites: When paired with Configuration Manager for Jira Cloud (licensed app), the Cloud Migration Tool (free app) allows you to establish a connection from a Jira Server instance to a Jira Cloud site (cloud connection). This cloud connection allows you to migrate projects and issue data to the cloud.

Overview

  • Migrate projects and issues from Jira Server to Jira Cloud: After creating a cloud connection, you are able to migrate your teams’ projects and issue data, including history, comments, attachments, links, and many more from a Jira Server instance to a Jira Cloud site.

Overview

  • Analysis of configuration changes to Jira Cloud: The Cloud Migration Tool performs a complete analysis of all configuration changes you’re about to introduce to the cloud and presents a detailed impact report. You can then evaluate the impact of each proposed change before continuing with the migration. Conflicts and other configuration problems are also detected and reported by the analysis.

Create connections to Jira Cloud sites

Install the Cloud Migration Tool on your source Jira Server instance and Configuration Manager for Jira on your destination Jira Cloud site. Then, the apps allow you to create a smooth server-to-cloud connection between them to migrate Jira projects and issue data to the cloud securely.

Cloud Migration Tool is a free app, and you don’t need a license to use it, but you need an active license for Configuration Manager for Jira after installing it on the destination cloud. For more information, please check out the installation and licensing guides.

After installing and setting up the apps, use the Cloud Migration Tool’s intuitive UI to create a connection to the cloud by providing your Jira Cloud site’s URL, your Atlassian account email, and API token, and then, you’re all set!

Later, during migration, the created cloud connection will allow you to transfer given projects with their issue data, including history, comments, attachments, or links.

Migrate projects and issues from Jira Server to Jira Cloud

A smart migration wizard will empower you to merge the projects and issue data you need into your Jira Cloud site in few easy steps.

You just need to connect to the cloud, select projects, analyze changes, take action on conflicts, and run the migration.

Merge your teams’ projects, workflows, custom fields, issues, including history, comments, attachments, links, and many more configuration elements. See the complete list of configuration elements we’re able to migrate currently.

The Cloud Migration Tool app currently supports migration of Jira Core projects. Migration of Jira Software projects is supported with the exception of Agile boards and sprint data. Service Management is not yet supported. See the roadmap for planned additional support.

Analysis of configuration changes to Jira Cloud

The analysis report allows you to review planned configuration changes to Jira Cloud and decide if you want to proceed with running the migration or you need to tailor your migration further.
In addition, in this phase, the Cloud Migration Tool finds and shows you all problems with your migration: warnings, errors, and conflicts between server and cloud configuration elements. For each problem that blocks your migration, the wizard suggests helpful tips for resolving that issue. This way, you can fix problems before applying the configuration changes and messing up your Jira Cloud’s configuration. As a result, you can be confident that your cloud will be healthy and operational after the migration.
