2. Upgrading Gaia

Goal
This section shows the instructions to upgrade the Gaia app.
Pre-requisites
This tutorial was written considering that :
- you have a Jira instance installed and running on your server;
- you have administrator rights on that Jira instance;
- you are logged in your Jira instance;
- you have a basic understanding of how the Administration of Jira works.
Upgrading Gaia
Like with any update, you should always backup your system before applying any modifications. The update procedure should be really straightforward.
Use the same procedure you would use for any other app as explained in the Atlassian documentation (https://confluence.atlassian.com/upm/updating-apps-273875710.html).
Upgrading Gaia should not delete any user defined templates from you system.
Please note that some modifications may occur on the default templates but it will not update any local copy made from them. You will have to recreate them with the new copy if you want them to be based on the latest version of the default templates.
