What are project request questions?

Project request questions are a tool that will help you collect important details from users who have permission to request projects. You can include optional and required questions in the form to ensure you have all necessary information upfront for creating the project.

HTML support for project request questions

Starting from Delegated Project Creator v.5.0.8, you can use HTML tags to format your questions. This lets you add hyperlinks to share relevant documentation with the requestors directly in the Project Request form. You can also use HTML to add styling, links, and other visual elements, to make your questions clearer.

Add new questions

To add new questions to the project request form:

  1. Go to the cog icon (Settings menu) in the top menu, then select Apps.

  2. From the left sidebar, select Project Request Settings under the Delegated Project Creator section to display the Configure Project Request Settings page.

  3. Open the Request Questions tab to configure your questions.

  4. In the Question column, enter question text. Both plain text and HTML are supported.

  5. In the Type column, choose the answer format:

    • Text - requestors see a single-line text field;

    • Text box - requestors see a multi-line text field;

    • Select - requestors see a drop-down menu.

  6. In the Values column:

    • For Text and Text box, enter the default value (requestors can edit it).

    • For Select, list each option on a separate line.

  7. Toggle the switch in the Required column to indicate if the question is mandatory (green checkmark) or optional (grey X).

  8. Click Add to save the new question.

You cannot add duplicate questions.

Use drag and drop () to re-arrange multiple questions in any order. The same order is reflected in the Request New Project screen.

Edit an existing question

From the Request Questions tab:

  • Hover over the Question field of an existing Question and click the pencil icon () to edit the Question inline.

  • Hover over the Type field of an existing Question and click the pencil icon () to edit the Type inline.

  • Hover over the Values field of an existing Question and click the pencil icon () to edit the Values inline.

  • Hover over the Required field of an existing Question and click the pencil icon () to edit the Required inline.

  • Click Update to save your changes or Cancel to discard your changes.

Delete an existing question

From the Request Questions tab, click the Delete button next to an existing Question to delete that question.
