Space administrators or permitted administrators can specify how numbered headings are to be applied across all pages in a given space.
Perform the following to access the space numbering option:
Log in as an administrator or space administrator.
Navigate to Space Settings → Manages pages → Numbered Headings. The space numbering option for Numbered Headings is displayed.
Enable the Enable Space Numbering option.
Any changes made to the settings are saved automatically.
Toggle the Enable space numbering option to allow the use of Numbered Headings within the specific space by default. If collaborative editing of pages is allowed, the Numbered headings button is enabled for use on new pages. Otherwise, users must save the page before the button can be enabled.
The hierarchy of numbering configuration starts with the page level taking precedence, followed by the space level, and then to the global level.
