Migrate from Data center (DC)/server to cloud

To migrate from server to cloud, refer to Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant (CCMA).

This article answers some of the most frequently asked questions.

What effect will migration have on my LaTeX Math macros?

For most users, it does not affect the macros at all. Macro content will be migrated automatically with all other page content. As an administrator, you must manually migrate the custom user macros and math block template in the LaTeX Math settings. If you used the default values on Data center (DC)/server, no further action is necessary.

What are the differences between LaTeX Math server and LaTeX Math cloud?

Some server features are unavailable on cloud. Read this article for details.

Can I convert my Confluence DC/server license to Confluence cloud?

Unfortunately, no. DC/server licenses are one-time purchases with optional maintenance, whereas cloud purchases are recurring subscriptions. Existing DC/server app licenses cannot be transferred or credited to cloud as these are independent licenses that need to be paid for separately.

If you purchased your DC/server license directly through the Atlassian Marketplace, you can contact Atlassian Support to see if you are eligible for a refund.

Can I migrate data from non-Appfire LaTeX Math Macros to Appfire LaTex macros to the cloud?

Yes. First, you must make your instance's macro key name compatible with the LaTex Math macro key name. This can be done using a tool available on the Migration Settings tab on the Configure LaTex Math page. Read this article to learn more. Once the pages are ready to be migrated, you can complete the process using the Confluence Content Migration Assistant (CCMA).

This is optional, and customers who are already using Appfire’s LaTeX Math macros in their instances must skip this process.
