Installation and update guide

This is the documentation for JSU for Jira Cloud. If you are using JSU on Jira Server or Jira Data Center, see our JSU Server/Data Center installation documentation.

Before you begin

  • You must be a Jira administrator to carry out the instructions on this page.

  • Browser requirements for JSU match the relevant Jira requirements. See the Jira Supported Browser page for the version of Jira that you are using.

  • You need a license for JSU. You can use a free Evaluation license for 30 days. Learn about our pricing tiers in our Marketplace listing.

Limitations

JSU Cloud can only be used to customize the workflows of company-managed (Classic) projects in Jira. Within your workflows, however, you can create automation rules that relate to issues in team-managed (Next-gen) projects. Learn more about configuring rules for related issues in the Configuration Guide. To learn more about the differences between company-managed and team-managed projects, refer to Atlassian's Jira Software project type comparison.

Install JSU

Installing JSU is like installing any other Jira app with the Universal Plugin Manager (see Managing add-ons in the Jira documentation).

  1. Log in to Jira as a Jira Administrator.

  2. Select the Jira Settings cog in the top right of your Jira instance and select Apps. The Find New Apps page displays.

  4. The JSU app displays. Select the app, then click Try it Free to install it.

  5. Click Start Free Trial. A confirmation message and the app details display once it installs successfully.

Update JSU

Updating JSU is similar to updating any other Jira app with the Universal Plugin Manager (see Managing add-ons in the Jira documentation).
