Configuration

Start by creating your own dashboard. See also Atlassian's documentation about Configuring dashboards

Please go to your JIRA dashboard and click Add Gadget.

The Gadget Directory will appear. You might have to click on the Load all gadgets link to see the complete list of available gadgets.

Locate the Federation Filter Results gadget and click the Add gadget button on the right hand side. Close the Gadget Directory with the X in the top right corner.

The Filter Results gadget will appear on your dashboard as follows:

  1. Saved Filter — start typing the name of the filter, or click the Advanced Search link to search for a filter/select one of your favourite filters/select a filter that you have created.
  2. Number of Results — type the maximum number of issues that you want the gadget to display per page.
  3. Fields to display  — select the issue fields to display as columns. Drag and drop to re-order.
  4. Federation — tick the checkboxes for all Jira instances, which you would like to include in the search.
(info) If you see here only one (your local) Jira instance as checkbox option, but not the other Jira instances in your organisation, please contact your Jira administrator to properly Setup your multiple Jira instances as a Federation .
  5. Refresh Interval — select how often you want the gadget to update the displayed activity (never / every 15 minutes / every 30 minutes / every hour / every two hours).

Click the Save button.

You might have to go through a short authentication process the first time you use the Federation Filter Results gadget. Click reload in your browser afterwards.

Depending on how your Jira administrator has configured application links (the communication channel) between your different Jira instances, this might not be necessary at all.
