Why do I need to connect the bot to Confluence?

Docs+ uses the Confluence APIs to handle notifications and create and update pages. The Confluence application link process is the most secure way to connect Confluence to applications.

What kind of security is used?

Confluence application links are built on industry-standard secure OAuth connections.

Is there an alternate connection option aside from application links?

Confluence provides a few different methods to connect applications but none are as secure as an application link, which is the recommended method from Atlassian.

Do I need to be a Confluence Admin?

You need admin access to your Confluence instance to create the application link. Please get in touch with your Confluence administrator to get the access you need, or have them review our Installation Guide.

What if I don't have permission? Can someone else complete this step?

Yes! Docs+ will automatically connect the accounts from anyone on your Slack team to the account you created, and setup can be completed upon login.
