User's Guide - 2.10 thru 2.11
Select groups
After clicking My groups from the Profile menu, the dialog box below will be shown. It displays:
- the number of groups in the window, which corresponds to the number of groups you manage
- the names for each of the groups you own with the member count next to each group name, sorted alphabetically
If an expected group does not appear in this list, contact your Administrator.
Click the name of the group you'd like to administer.
Manage a group
Once you've selected a group to manage in the preceding screen, a screen like the one below is displayed:
- Start typing in the Filter users field to auto search the users.
- To remove a user(s) from the group, select the check box against the intended user(s) and click Remove user from group.
- To add a user to the group, click Add user to group.
A maximum of only 10 users are displayed per page. Click Next or Prev to navigate to the next or previous page respectively.
Limitations:
- You cannot remove users from a read-only directory.
- You cannot remove yourself from a group.
- You cannot remove a user who is a part of nested group.
Note that:- such a user is marked with icon.
- this is applicable only in Jira.
Add user to a group
After clicking Add user to group in the preceding screen, a screen like the one below will be shown.
Enter any set of characters as search criteria and click Search. This retrieves the search results based on Username, Name and Email of users containing the search criteria. Note that the username is displayed next to user's full name to make it easy to select a user when multiple users with the same name exist. Select the required user(s) from the search results and click Add User(s) to add them to the group.
You can now manage users in groups from all external directories (read/write or read-only) through Delegated Group Management. The app performs this action with regard to how Confluence or Jira natively enforces user management. Please note that the delegated group itself needs to be associated with a read/write directory for delegation actions to complete successfully.
