Accessing the Delegated Group Management configuration page

To access the Delegated Group Management configuration page,

  • In Confluence: Click the Cog menu  and choose Add-ons, and then click Delegated Group Management.
  • In JIRA: Click the Cog menu and choose User Management, and then click Delegated Group Management.

The Delegated Group Management configuration page allows you to select a owner of a group. The page consists of:

Group nameThe group that is delegated
Owner(s)One or more individuals designated as the owner of the delegated group. 
RemoveClick Remove to remove an individual from being an owner of the group.
Stop DelegationClick Stop delegation to stop delegating the group.
Add ownerClick Add owner to designate an owner.
Add groupClick Add group to add another delegated group.

Delegating a group

To delegate a group, click Add group. In the Add new group popup window, supply a string in the first box and then click Search to find groups whose name begins with the specified string. Then, select the desired group in the second box and click Add group to begin delegating that group.

After clicking Add group, you are returned to the Delegated Group Management configuration page. The new group is listed, with "no owner specified" in the Owner(s) column.

Adding an owner to a group

To add an owner, click Add owner next to the desired group. The Add new owner page is displayed.

Select the desired owner and then click Add owner to make that individual the owner of the group.

Removing delegation from a group

To stop delegating a group, click Stop delegation next to the desired group. The group will be immediately removed from the Delegated Group Management configuration page.
