Page URLs and page contentIds

An important aspect is that during the publishing action from the source space to a target space, a page link to another page in the source space is updated on the published target space page to the destination page in the target space (if published).

The published page link URL is changed to

the target space key (by the Comala Publishing app)
the link destination page contentId in the target space (by Confluence Cloud)

Published page URL in the target space with new contentId

If the destination page for the link has not yet been published, the target space page in-page link points to the unpublished source space page.

A link to another space, an external site, or a short link is not updated on publishing and syncing the source space page. For further details see Publishing and syncing a page with in-page links
