parent-space macro

Overview

The parent-space macro can be used to specify the root space for the current space.

The root space key is added to the body of the macro.

In setting a space hierarchy in your instance it is advisable to create an appropriately named space to be set as the root space and the root space home page to be the site home page (as these will be shown as the root of the spaces breadcrumbs).

Usage

Add the Parent space macro to the (home) page of a space using the Confluence macro browser:

The macro editor has no options to change.

Insert the macro to the page and add the space key for the root space to the body of the macro placeholder.

There will be no display on the page from this macro. To see the changes, add the space-hierarchy macro configured with the same space key used for the parent space.

The display on the page will show the space hierarchy.

Any changes using this macro will also be reflected in the space-breadcrumbs macro (if added).
