Overview

You can use a Comala Document Control approval workflow to manage your document development.

You can select from three unique approval workflows to add to your documents.

Applying a workflow

A Comala Document Control workflow can be either

A space admin applies a workflow to all the pages and blog posts by making a workflow active in the space document control dashboard.

Once a workflow is enabled in the dashboard, it overrides any workflow applied individually to a document.

When there is no active workflow in the dashboard, any workflow in the dashboard can be selected to add to a page or blog post as a page workflow using the Add workflow byline on the page

Or choose the Add Page Workflow option in the page tools menu.

Approvals and reviewers

In a workflow state, an approval can require one or more reviewers to sign off on the content.

One or more users can be manually assigned to an approval using the workflow popup.

Once a reviewer is assigned, only the assignees can undertake the approval decision. Reviewer approval decisions are displayed in the workflow popup.

All assignees must agree for the workflow transition to occur.

In the Quality Management System (QMS) workflow users are assigned by the workflow on transition into the workflow state containing an approval.

The approvals by default in the Draft and the In Approval states in the Quality Management System workflow also require an e-signature for each reviewer.
