Page tree not updating in the published space
Problem
The Page tree navigation in the sidebar is not updated when a new page (not yet existing in published space) is published.
What is happening?
Comala Publishing is not designed to publish a child of draft content to a new parent in the published space.
If the parent does not exist in the published space the page is published to the root of the space as an orphan.
This problem can also occur when two spaces are initially linked draft content is published after linking. The default Configure settings for the initialization mean that the published space home page is not deleted on this initial publish.
Workaround
Manually reorder the content in the published space to view the page in the page tree navigation.
Publish the draft content but ensure that the parent page is present in both the draft and published spaces and visible in the page tree navigation in both spaces.
If the published space homepage is the original homepage this can be rectified by
- manually changing the home page for the published space in space tools and setting a new page as the published home page from the draft space. You should also delete the old home page for the published space.
The homepage can be set on the initial linking and publishing of the draft space and the published space by choosing to Configure prior to publishing to Delete Pages added in the Published space. This will delete the original home page and replace it with the published homepage from the draft space.
