Advanced permission - First phase

📋 Summary

Currently we have very simple way to allow permission levels that are based on monday.com. roles → . However, these are not customizable and doesn’t satisfy our users.

There are different steps to improve that permission logic to align with our users need:

1. Define 7pace roles and their permissions and automatically map monday.com roles to them. Users don’t have possibility to adjust (besides changing monday roles for users) this in any way. This is basically already in place, however our 7pace roles in their full complexity are not defined yet.

2. Allow to change the mapping between 7pace and monday.com roles with an UI in the settings area.

3. Allow to override the mapping and change roles for individual users

4. Incorporate monday.com teams into the permission logic

5. Allow to create custom roles
   
   

For this first implementation phase we want to focus on the first two steps. The other steps will follow in the future based on the feedback/requests we are seeing from our users.

📃 Comprehensive Overview

1. Define 7pace roles and automatically map them to monday roles

2. Allow changing of mapping

Admins can access the permissions settings through the settings area, where they will have an overview of the 7pace roles and their associated permissions. They can see how these roles are currently mapped to monday roles and have the ability, via the interface, to change the monday role for a given 7pace role.
