Copy to board
Time tracking data is only useful when connected to your work. In monday.com, this translates to time entries being connected to your items and boards.
With 'Copy to board' you can copy time tracking data from the All Times view to a monday.com board. This lets you treat time entries as data in any other monday.com board.
How to copy data to a monday.com board
7pace allows you to copy aggregated time data to a designated monday.com board. To do this, navigate to the All Times view and run the Copy to Board functionality (button on the top right).Â
Now you can work with this data as with any other monday.com data - i.e., connect columns from other boards, create dashboard widgets, etc.Â
Â
Automatic matching of ratesÂ
You can also set up monday.com automations in the target board to make data truly interconnected with other boards (e.g. obtaining the rates of people); these automations will be kept when new data is added to this board.
First, locate the board where the rates are tracked. This board must be associated with the respective users. In this example, the board is named 'People'.
Next, create a connected board column linked to the 'People' board, and add a mirror column to pull data from the 'Rate' column. If you're unsure how to configure this correctly, refer to the existing 7pace Export board in the 7pace Template for guidance.
Next, set up a formula column named 'Budget spent' that will calculate the spent budget by multiplying the number of logged hours with the matched rate.
Â
Next, configure two Match automations for the following scenarios: Item Creation and Column Update.
You can refer to the automation setup in the 7pace Time Export Example board as a template for this configuration.
Once all steps are completed, you'll need to trigger the "Copy to Board" process again to ensure the rates are automatically mirrored, allowing the budget spent to be calculated correctly. For future exports to this board, this process will be applied automatically.
We recommend setting the board with the copied data to 'public' by changing its type to 'Main'.

Additional details and current limitations
You cannot choose the target board at this moment. The system automatically creates a new board for you the first time you use 'Copy to board' feature, and the system will continue using this board until you remove it or until the board is full. The board is initially set to 'Private' because it may contain sensitive data; feel free to change it to 'Main' if you need to.
Starting from April 2024, data are exported 1:1 when using 'Copy to board'; it means that every time entry will have its counterpart in the target board.
All comments and active custom fields are included in the copied data, regardless of whether they are displayed when browsing 'Times Explorer' or not.Â
The target board is bound to a user; it means that a new board will be created for every user who runs the 'Copy to board' functionality.
Copied data is static, which means that if you change time entries in the past after they have been already copied to a board, the changes will not be reflected in the board. It's the same as if you exported the data to a spreadsheet.
If you need to refresh some past data, simply remove a respective group in the target board and copy the same period from 7pace Timetracker again.
Every 'Copy to board' run creates its own group in the target board. This makes deletion of obsolete or accidental exports easier, as well as informing the user of the date and the selected range of past exports.
You can enhance the target board with your own columns and/or automations and the board will still be eligible for further exports from 7pace, unless you alter the columns created by 7pace. The system checks the board structure before every export; if the board is not eligible anymore, the system creates a new one.
