How do I navigate to Octo?

Octo is found in the main Jira navigation menu.

How can I link components to the next-gen issue?

You can link components to next-gen issues from an issue. The component field is hidden by default. You can show it by clicking the component icon under Issue summary.

How can I solve synchronization errors with Jira?

Errors can occur during synchronization in Octo if:

  1. You changed the component name of the cross-project component in Jira and this component name already exists in one of the projects attached to the syncing component.

  2. One of the cross-project component attributes was changed in several Jira projects.

How do I apply a promo code/discount code for Octo?
Is there a demo environment where I can try Octo?

Simply sign up for a free Jira instance https://www.atlassian.com/software/free and install Octo from https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1221419/octo-component-versions-subcomponents-and-sync-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=pricing.

Jira and Octo are free for up to 10 users, so you can invite other colleagues to try Octo for as long as you need.

How do I display the Component Hierarchy tab on the Issue creation screen?

It's not possible to enable the Component hierarchy on the Issue creation screen. You can only add the Component and the Component Version. The Component hierarchy is an iframe in the Jira issue details and we don't have a way to add them to the Issue creation screen.

Does Octo allow for subcomponents to have more than one parent?

A subcomponent in Octo can only have one parent component. However, parent components can have more than one subcomponent.
