Starting number
The default starting number is 1. If you want to start at a higher number, you can configure it here.
You can add a comma separated list to change the starting number of several levels of headings. Adding 1,3,3 will start the second and third heading at 3.
Starting heading
The default heading to start numbering at is H1. You can choose a different heading if you want to have unnumbered titles, for example.
Skip headings
All headings are included by default. If you want to skip certain headings, you can configure it here. You can choose multiple headings by separating them with a comma.
For example, if you only want to number headings 1 - 3, you can skip the rest of the headings by adding this list: H4,H5,H6
.
Custom format
When you select custom format as the Number format, additional fields are added to the configuration. Each field represents a heading level and allows you to define your own numbering format for this heading.
When a field is left empty, the heading will not be numbered.
The format can consist of a combination of regular characters and numbering values. Numbering values can be added in between square brackets and have the following format:
[heading.format]
Replace heading with the heading level that you want to use: H1 - H6. Replace format with one of the available formats from the Number format table earlier on this page.
