Install the app

Ensure to have a compatible Jira version (7.2  and above) before installing the app. Perform the following to install the app:

  1. Log into your Jira instance as an admin.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Manage apps.

  3. Enter the required details when redirected to MyAtlassian.

  4. Select Find new apps from the sidebar to navigate to the Atlassian Marketplace for Jira page.

  5. Locate 'Create on Transition for Jira' using search.

  6. Click Free trial to begin a new trial or Buy now to purchase a license, once you find the app. The installation starts automatically.

  7. Click Get license when prompted.

  8. Enter the required details when redirected to MyAtlassian.

  9. Click Apply license. If you are using an older version of UPM, you can copy-paste the license into your Jira instance.

Once the app is installed, you can click Get Started when prompted, to navigate to the respective documentation and know more about the app.

  • After the app is upgraded to 7.3 from a lower version or Create on Transition for Jira version 7.3 is installed, you notice the following in the Logging and profiling page:

    • 'org.swift.jira.cot' is added to the list of packages with the log level defaulted to ERROR.

    • If the 'org.swift.jira.cot' package already exists, any pre-set log level is modified to ERROR automatically.

  • Whenever Jira is re-started or Create on Transition for Jira version 7.3 is re-installed, the previously set log level is retained for 'org.swift.jira.cot' in the Logging and profiling page.
