Manage configuration elements

With Power Admin for Jira, you can make safe changes to configuration elements in your Jira. You can perform different actions like ConfigureEditDeleteCopyRename, and Export on Jira configuration elements and their dependencies. Depending on the usage and the configuration element type, the set of available actions varies.

RenameDelete and Export actions are entirely managed and performed by Power Admin.

To learn more about the specifics of using the Rename and Delete actions, check the documents:

For the Configure, Edit, and Copy actions, Power Admin will redirect you to the relevant Jira native pages.

Where are the actions located?

Primary actions on the profile page

On the Configuration Element page, there is a section with the actions available for the object. For each configuration element, the page contains buttons with headers Configure, Edit, Delete, Copy, and Export. Only the controls for the available actions are active. For more details, check the screenshot below (point 1).

Quick actions on the profile page

In the table with dependent objects on the Configuration Element page, you can see the actions available for each dependent element in the Actions column. For each configuration element, this column contains the actions Configure, Edit, Delete, and Copy, but only the available actions are active. For more details, check the screenshot below.

  1. After you find a configuration element and open its Configuration Element page, you will see a list of all its dependent objects and available actions. This approach allows you to quickly and easily modify more than one element.

  2. After you find a configuration element and open its Configuration Element page, click on the name of one of the dependent objects listed in the table. Then execute one of the actions available on its profile page after you have carefully examined the object usage and dependencies.

No actions are available for Agile boards, filters, dashboards and projects.
