Overview

This guide covers installation instructions and other administrative features and functions (where relevant) that are available within the XLExcel for Confluence app.

For additional information on using this app, please refer to the User guide - 6.x.

Product installation

Download version

  1. Log into your Confluence instance as an administrator.

  2. Click the cog wheel and choose Manage apps.

  2. Locate Excel for Confluence, or click Find new apps from the left-hand side of the page and search for the app.

  1.  The appropriate app version appears in the search results.

  2. Click Try free to begin a new trial or Buy now to purchase a license for Excel for Confluence.

  1.  You're prompted to log into MyAtlassian.

  2. Enter your information and click Generate license when redirected to MyAtlassian.

  3. Click Apply license.

  1.  If you're using an older version of UPM, you can copy and paste the license into your Confluence instance.

Since Version 6.6

Once Excel for Confluence is upgraded to 6.6 from any lower version, and if, for any reason, it is downgraded to the lower version, the newly added Excel macro (in 6.6 version) may not show the expected results and you may have to correct the parameters. This is because the lower version cannot read the newly added parameters from 6.6. To know more about the new parameters added in 6.6, refer to Release notes 6.6.

Some parameters of the Excel macro can be restricted using CMSPMacro Security for Confluence. Specifically, the use of URL capabilities may need to be restricted in your environment. If you are not using the CMSPMacro Security for Confluence app, nothing needs to be done. If you are using the CMSPMacro Security for Confluence app, you can add additional configuration to control access to the Excel macro capabilities. Macro security is configured by finding the CMSPMacro Security for Confluence app on your Manage Apps page in UPM. Click the Configure button. Consider adding the following or some more specific to your situation:
