About box details

The box details dialog in the Board module provides the following information about the timebox (such as Sprint, Iteration, and PI):

  • box ID

  • box name

  • box start and end dates

  • task period alignment

Access box details

To prompt box details dialog:

  1. Click triple dots (More actions) on the selected timebox.

  2. Select Edit from the dropdown menu.

Managing box details

All data displayed on the task details dialog are editable, allowing you to manage your timebox details on the fly.

Box ID

Click on the icon next to the ID to copy it, and use it in the Board – Scope synchronization configuration. Then, copy the information to the clipboard and paste it into the "Value" field to quickly configure the Board.

Box Status

You can change the status of the Box using the status drop-down or the right-click drop-down. The status related properties are described . You will need the box ID to synchronize tasks in the scope of your box.

Box name

The default name for the Iteration box type is “Iteration.” Inline edit the box name to better reflect your organization's terminology.

Box start and end dates

The start and end dates of the timebox depend on the task period alignment. However, you can manually change one or both dates should your current iteration require it.

Task period alignment

You can configure the Task period alignment on the box configuration > Tasks > Scheduling page. You need at least the Box Admin security role to access the box configuration page. You can also change it directly on the box details dialog.

Box status

The dropdown menu under the triple dots (More actions) allows you to change the status of the box. Alternatively, right-click the timebox heading to prompt the box status menu.

The status-related properties are described in the table below:

Box status

Description

Not started

When you set the Timebox timebox status to "Not started," you can:

  • modify the scope and objectives

  • set the Planned Business Value for objectives

In Progress

When you set the Timebox status to "In Progress," you can:

  • modify the scope and objectives

  • set both Planned and Actual Business Value for objectives

Closed

When you set the Timebox status to "Closed":

  • you cannot modify the scope and objectives

  • you can set both Planned and Actual Business Value for objectives

For example, "SL Sprint 1" is closed, and when a task is dragged, it is not marked as a droppable area:

The dates of the tasks assigned to a Box using the Board Module, for example, can align with Box dates or stay within the limits of a Box. Thanks to this functionality, you can display your tasks on a timeline in the Gantt, or Resources Modules, or any other module that allows the fields configured as Start and End dates to be displayed:
